    COMPOSITE OR WOOD DECKING?

    Last updated 1 year ago

Proper Planning is Essential For Your Utah Decking Project

Whether considering a new deck, or replacing an old one, the process of constructing a deck for outdoor living space can be a large project.  Indeed, if your deck is not constructed to match your house landscape, the deck could end up being an eyesore.  There are important planning elements that need to be taken into consideration for your new deck project, so of course planning is a must before you purchase Utah decking materials.  In fact, the process of planning includeds several decisions such as whether you want wood or Trex decking (Salt Lake City, and Utah Communities).  As you know, wood decks have substantially decreased in popularity over the past two decades.  You should certainly consider different types of Utah decking options before making your final decision.  Likely, you have heard that the most popular Utah decking option right now is called "composite decking."  Composite Trex decking (Salt lake City, and Utah communities) is comprised of a mixture of polymer and wood products.  The benefits of composite decking are many:

Very Resistant to Weather:  Composite decking contains polymers that are not as susceptible to temperature changes, which are known to cause regular wood to contract as well as expand.  In other words, composite decking is less likely to have warp issues.  Additionally, the plastics within composite decking are effective in protecting the deck from degredation which would otherwise be caused by moisture.

Very Durable: Our Trex decking (Salt Lake City and Utah communities) and other composite decking is fabricated from composite materials that are known to last decades longer than traditional solid wood decks.  Additionally, our decking made from composite materials is designed to last two to three times longer than traditional wood decks.  Also, the esthetic appeal of composite decks over wood decks has been undeniable.

Little Maintenance:  Unfortunately, wood decks have a reputation of splitting, requiring frequent staining, sealing, and being vulnerable to insects.  Our Trex Decking (Salt Lake City, and Utah communities) and other composite decking is known for it's unmatched durability.  Maintaining a composite deck is easy, requiring only occasional sweeping, and occasional cleaning as desired with household or commercial cleaners.

Convenience:  Our customers love their new composite Utah decking from Vinyl Industries for a variety of reasons.  Families can walk barefoot on their new decking without worrying about splinters, and not worry about younger children freely playing on their new deck.

Call us today to hear about the composite decking types that we offer.  We can make your Utah decking project a reality today!

    Installing a Vinyl Fence

    Basic Fence Installation Instruction

It is true that Utah vinyl fencing can be more expensive than wood-type fences.  There are those of you who possibly don't even have a vinyl fence.  We have a variety of photos of vinyl fencing on our website for your review.  One of the many advantages of vinyl fencing is that they come in pieces that can be assembled relatively easily.  Unfortunately, some companies out there do not install Utah vinyl fencing correctly, requiring vinyl fence repair (Salt Lake City and Utah communities).  The installation of a vinyl fence can indeed be easier than installing a wood fence, as wood fences come in fewer pieces.  Before attempting a vinyl fence install yourself, you may need some installation background, but many people have found that installing a vinyl fence is very doable.

Vinyl fences have been compared to the likes of vintage artwork because they make a yard surrounding a home look even better, can go with most colors, and can last for decades longer than traditional wood fencing.  Additionally vinyl fencing never fades, so you don't have to worry about vinyl fence repair (Salt Lake City and Utah communities), re-finishing or repainting the fence.  Some of our customers have even remarked that their new vinyl fence offers peace of mind that cannot be purchased.  We're sure you've heard the old saying; "time is money."  Indeed, purchasing a vinyl fence will save you time over the long run, and hence money.

We have included in this article, some brief and basic instruction on how to install Utah vinyl fencing.  There are many ways to install vinyl fencing, so if you have any questions, please give us (Vinyl Industries) a call.

    1. Dig deep holes for the posts.  We recommend holes that are at a minimum of 27 inches in depth.  This depth can provide the stability needed for your fence, but you also need to consider average wind speeds in your neighborhood.  High wind areas may need deeper holes to be dug.  Ensure the post holes are dug according to the measurement of the panels (top and bottom) that will need to be placed between each post.
    2. Sloped terrain requires a 'step' approach.  In other words, ensure that the top of your fence posts are on the same line.  You can begin with shorter fencing on the 'uphill' portion of your property, with the longer pieces remaining on the 'downhill' portion.  This will help minimize differences in your fence height, but keep in mind that the more dramatic your property slope, the less likel
y that you will be successful in minimizing differences to your fence height.
  • Place your posts in the pre-dug holes.  Begin to mix or prepare your cement.  When properly prepared, ensure you fill up the hole two-three inches below ground level so that sod or landscape can cover the cement when dried.  Pouring the cement per post, check each post to ensure the proper horizontal and vertical levels.
  • Assemble vinyl fence components.  Utilize the pre-fabricated insertion points fabricated into the vinyl posts.  Insert the bottom and top vinyl rails between each fence post, and insert central fence slats between the rails.  Some cutting and measuring will be required to properly fit fence slats between railes, especially on sloping terrain.
  • These instructions are very basic and intended to give a rough outline of Utah vinyl fencing installation.  Vinyl Industries has installed thousands of vinyl fences since being in business, and would welcome the chance to answer any questions that you may have.  If you are in need of vinyl fence repair (Salt Lake City and Utah communities), take time to call us today!

    JUST ANOTHER UTAH FENCE COMPANY?

    Last updated 1 year ago

What Sets Apart One Utah Fence Company From Another? Vinyl Industries Has Been Installing Utah Fences 'The Right Way' for 20 years

So the other day I was accomplishing my usual Saturday chores.  I started off by mowing the lawn, then proceeded to pull rogue weeds in my flower beds just as I do every week.  Sure, I could lay some plastic a few inches under the soil and not have to worry about weeds ever again, but I think my  grandparents might roll in their grave.  Both of them came were lifelong farmers, and my first official employment began on their expansive yard and farm in Herriman, Utah.  Weeds had to be pulled a certain way.  Fences had to be re-painted frequently.  Even surrounding alpha-alpha fields to their yard had to be trimmed to compliment the landscape.  Hard labor was considered a privilege to be thankful for.  My Grandparents always said that 'if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right.'  Vinyl Industries is a Utah fence company that has taken on the exact mantra of doing a job right.  With 20 years experience installing Utah fences, Vinyl Industries can be trusted to install your Utah vinyl fence.  Other companies that install Utah fences have come and gone over the same period that Vinyl Industries has been in business.  That begs a question:  If a company promises a level of customer service, how do you know they can honor their commitments with such high industry turnover?  Vinyl Industries is here today.  They will be here tomorrow.  Their record proves it.

Why Should You Choose a Utah Vinyl Fence Instead of Other Utah Fences? Vinyl Industries Is The Only 'On-Site' Utah Fence Company Manufacturer of Utah Vinyl Fence

As I mentioned previously, my habit of allowing weeds to come back week-after-week could be solved by placing plastics a few inches under the soil in the flower beds surrounding my home.  The science buff realizes that polymers are very durable and anti-degrade able.  Vinyl Industries is a Utah fence company that specifically designs, engineers, and manufactures it's own Utah vinyl fence locally here in Utah.  Other Utah fences can be purchased and had from local retailers that cannot offer the same quality of vinyl.  Vinyl Industries offers a Utah Vinyl fence that is specifically designed for the harshest Utah climates.  It's always been said that if you don't like the weather in Utah, wait a few hours or so, and it will change.  Why trust your Utah vinyl

fence to national distributors who don't understand our local weather patterns?  Simply said, other Utah fences are no match for the fine quality that you can expect from Vinyl Industries' Utah Fence Company.
